Travel Tips From AirportParking.com
|
***SPECIAL UPDATE***
EFFECTIVE AUGUST 4, 2007:
- Common lighters will no longer be banned in carry-on luggage
- Laptop computers, full-size video game consoles (for example Playstation®, X-box®, or Nintendo®), full-size DVD players, and video cameras that use video cassettes must be removed from their carrying cases and submitted separately for x-ray screening.
At airportparking.com, our goal is to make your trip easy, stress-free and safe. Here are some helpful tips to keep in mind:
- Before you leave, call your airline for flight updates. Be sure to have your flight number on hand.
- Arrive at the airport no less than 90 minutes before departure. If taking an international flight, plan on arriving 2 hours before departure, to ensure sufficient time for security/customs screenings.
- If you are leaving the country, know the laws of leaving and entering the U.S., as well as the laws of leaving and entering the country you are visiting.
- Carry unexposed film, medication and important papers/documents in carry-on baggage.
- Do not gift wrap any gifts you are bringing in your carry-on or checked baggage.
- Carry-on baggage is limited to one bag per passenger.
- Non-ticketed persons are not allowed past security screening stations.
- Have valid photo identification and/or passport with you and available at all times.
- Do not place car keys or medication in checked baggage.
- Lighters, knives and scissors with blades longer than four inches are not allowed on your person or in your carry on baggage.
- Be prepared to remove footwear for additional screening when going through security.
- When going through security, all jackets, heavy jewelry, change, computers, cell phones, pagers, purses, carry on items and loose fitting outerwear must be placed on the security screening belt for inspection.
- If traveling with young children, it is a good idea to bring additional snacks, drinks and quiet toys with you to ensure the comfort of your child during your flight.
Have a great flight! |

Make Your Trip Better Using 3-1-1 |
|

3-1-1 for carry-ons = 3 ounce bottle or less; 1 quart-sized, clear, plastic, zip-top bag; 1 bag per passenger placed in screening bin. One-quart bag per person limits the total liquid volume each traveler can bring. 3 oz. container size is a security measure.
Consolidate bottles into one bag and X-ray separately to speed screening.
Be prepared. Each time TSA searches a carry-on it slows down the line. Practicing 3-1-1 will ensure a faster and easier checkpoint experience.
3-1-1 is for short trips. If in doubt, put your liquids in checked luggage.
Declare larger liquids. Medications, baby formula and food, breast milk, and juice are allowed in reasonable quantities exceeding three ounces and are not required to be in the zip-top bag. Declare these items for inspection at the checkpoint.
Come early and be patient. Heavy travel volumes and the enhanced security process may mean longer lines at security checkpoints.
