Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) is currently busiest airport in the world by passenger volume, and part of that achievement is thanks to the fact that it is also Delta Air Lines’ biggest hub. The airline, which is headquartered in the city, operates an expansive route network across the United States, the Americas, Europe, and Asia from the hub. While Delta certainly dominates at Atlanta, AirTran Airways also operates a hub at the airport with flights throughout the United States and also to nearby international destinations like Nassau and San Juan. The airport is also well-served by the other major domestic air carriers, and has international service from airlines including Air France, British Airways, and Lufthansa. The airport is located close to Interstates 75, 85, and 285, providing convenient access for those traveling to and from the airport by car. Those who prefer public transport can take the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) station at the airport. ATL airport has one main terminal (divided into North and South areas) for checking in, going through security, and claiming checked luggage. Flights depart from six concourses (A, B, C, D, E, and T). All of the concourses are connected by walkways and The Plane Train, an underground automated train that makes travel between concourses fast and easy.
