Buffalo Niagara International Airport (BUF) is located in Cheektowaga, serving the Buffalo Niagara Falls metropolitan area, as well as Southern Ontario, Canada. Offering 110 daily flights and nonstop service to 23 destinations, including Orlando, Chicago, Minneapolis, and Las Vegas, the airport had over five million passengers pass through in 2010.
Only 10 miles outside of Buffalo and 45 kilometers away from Niagara Falls, BUF airport is conveniently next to the NY-33/Kensington Expressway from both directions. Public bus service (NFTA-METRO) is also available, while other ground transportation is on the lower level of the terminal.
Given its close proximity to Canada, Buffalo Niagara International Airport deals with a bit of international travel. Therefore, remember that both U.S. and Canadian travelers are required to present a passport or other document that denotes identity and citizenship if your travels take you across either border.
Airlines at Buffalo Niagara airport include AirTran, American Airlines, Delta, JetBlue, Southwest, American Eagle, United (currently merging with Continental), and US Airways, with Southwest being the largest air carrier in terms of number of passengers. All of these airlines are served by 26 gates in one terminal.
