CLT Airport Guide
Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) serves Charlotte, North Carolina and surrounding areas. With over 38 million passengers passing through its gates in 2010, Charlotte Douglas is one of the nation’s busiest airports. This is in part due to nonstop service to international destinations such as Aruba, Montreal, San Juan, Punta Cana, Puerto Vallarta, Montego Bay, Belize City, Cancun and Toronto.
Getting to Charlotte Douglas Airport is fairly direct. From I-85, take Exit 33 to Billy Graham Parkway and exit on Josh Birmingham Parkway where the signs signal for the airport. If you’re traveling from uptown Charlotte, take I-277 to I-77 South, and then exit to Billy Graham Parkway until you reach the Charlotte airport exit. For those in need of public transportation, use CATS – Charlotte Area Transit System – for bus service around the city. It connects from the airport to downtown Charlotte every 20 to 30 minutes, with all buses in the fleet made up entirely of clean air or hybrid electric buses.
