Parking At Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport
If you’re looking for parking at Detroit Metro Airport, AirportParking.com has you covered! While there are currently no parking options available for online reservation, AirportParking.com can still make your DTW parking quest as simple as possible, however, with user ratings to help guide your parking decision. You can also reserve parking at three off-airport parking facilities, all which offer free transportation to and from the airport. Two of these locations are hotels with open parking, while another facility offers covered parking and provides optional valet service.
Multiple on-airport parking options are available at DTW Airport. Each terminal (McNamara and North Terminals, respectively) has its own parking garage, and long-term Yellow wand Green surface lots are also available, with free shuttle service to Detroit Metro airport terminals. Park in one of two covered parking garages that lead to each terminal. The Big Blue Deck is steps away from the North Terminal, with the McNamara Terminal Parking Structure connects directly to the terminal via covered walkway. Free shuttle service is ready for passengers who park in one airport parking lot and need to get to another.
DTW Airport Guide
Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW), often better known as Detroit Metro Airport, serves as one of the largest global hubs for Delta Air Lines. (The airport was previously a hub for Northwest Airlines, which then merged with Delta.) Thanks to this hub status, the airport has an abundance of air service to destinations across the globe, offering domestic and international flights to over 160 destinations, flying everywhere from Syracuse, New York to Seoul, South Korea.
With over 32 million passengers passing through its gates in 2010, Detroit Metro Airport ranks 16th in terms of busiest airports in America. While the airport is located in Romulus, Michigan, it serves the greater Detroit area, as well other parts of Michigan, the city of Toledo, Ohio, and Windsor, Ontario in Canada.
DTW Airport is conveniently located near Interstates 275 and 94, the latter of which provides access to downtown Detroit, which is only 30 minutes away from the airport. Public bus service that gives access to the rest of the local area is provided by the Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation (SMART).
While Delta is by far the largest carrier at Detroit Airport, plenty of airlines serve the airport, including major airlines like American, United (with Continental merging with United), and US Airways. International airlines Air Canada, Air France, KLM, Lufthansa, and Royal Jordanian also fly to Detroit.
Detroit Metro Airport
Detroit International Airport has two terminals: the McNamara Terminal and the North Terminal:- The McNamara Terminal, opened in 2002, is primarily used by Delta for its hub operations in Detroit. The only other airline to use this facility is Air France, one of Delta’s SkyTeam alliance partners. The terminal features three concourses (A, B, and C). An automated train, ExpressTram, is available to allow fast travel through Concourse A.
- All other airlines serving Detroit operate out of the North Terminal, which opened in 2008. These air carriers include AirTran Airways, Frontier, Spirit and Southwest.
