Parking At Honolulu International Airport
Looking for Honolulu airport parking? AirportParking.com has you covered. While there are currently no parking lots available online for reservation, AirportParking.com makes your search for parking easier by providing detailed maps, information on nearby lots and services, and user reviews so you can make an informed decision about where to choose to park when you need long term Honolulu International Airport parking.
Onsite at HNL airport, there are a number of places to park. While parking is limited in the Interisland (M) and Commuter Terminal (B) lots, there are plenty of spaces available in the International (A) or Overseas (D) parking garages. Lot A is directly across from the International Arrivals building, with a walkway to the Interisland Terminal at the top of the garage, while Lot B is adjacent to the Commuter Terminal and Lot D is next to the Overseas Terminal. For the budget conscious, the Economy Lot (J) offers cheaper airport parking next to the Lei Stands. Furthermore, those waiting to pick up passengers at Honolulu International Airport can park in the cell phone waiting area, as well as courtesy parking for bicycles and designated parking for electric vehicles.
HNL Airport Guide
Honolulu International Airport (HNL) is the principal airport for the city of Honolulu, Hawaii, located on the island of Oahu in the Hawaiian Islands. One of the busiest airports in the U.S. due to a steady stream of tourists, HNL saw over 18 million passengers in 2010 alone pass through its gates. Resort destination Waikiki Beach is only 10 miles away, while downtown Honolulu is only three miles away from the airport.
To get to the airport, take the H-1 Freeway and exit at the Airport Off-Ramp until reaching the terminals. Alternately, take the Nimitz Highway and turn onto Rodger Boulevard, then follow signs for the airport. If you need public transportation, TheBus offers routes 19, 20 and 31 from the airport to various stops around Honolulu, including Ala Moana and Waikiki.
Word to the wise: the U.S. Department of Agriculture inspects all baggage bound from Hawaii to the U.S. mainland. Therefore, not only are there restrictions on what kind of fruits, plants and other items you can bring on your flight, but you will need to arrive earlier than usual in order to go through baggage inspection and security while still being boarded on time.
Unsurprisingly, Honolulu International Airport serves as the main hub for Hawaiian Airlines, which offers flights between other Hawaiian Islands like Maui and Kauai, as well as flights from the mainland U.S., Australia, Fiji, Samoa, Japan, the Philippines, South Korea and Tahiti. United and Japan Airlines (JAL) are also major airlines that fly into Honolulu, along with China Airlines, Delta, Korean Airlines, Qantas, Air Canada, and WestJet.
Honolulu International Airport is divided into three terminals, while $2.3 billion modernization program is underway:
- Main Overseas Terminal is used for U.S. domestic and international destinations
- Interisland Terminal serves flights between islands and some U.S. mainland flights
- Commuter Terminal severs smaller airlines in the island chain
