Jacksonville International Airport (JAX), located 13 miles north of downtown Jacksonville in Duval County, Florida, served nearly 6 million passengers in 2010. Nonstop flights from JAX airport head to international gateways and major U.S. cities such as Boston, Dallas, Las Vegas, New York and San Juan.
The airport is conveniently situated next to I-95 – just take the interstate to Duval Road, which turns into Airport Road. Passengers coming from the west, such as Tallahassee, will take I-295 to the I-95 to get to JAX airport. To get from the airport to downtown Jacksonville, the Jacksonville Transportation Authority provides rides through the AirJTA bus. Other options include airport shuttles and taxis.
Air carriers at Jacksonville International Airport include US Airways, Southwest Airlines, Delta, AirTran, American, JetBlue and United. The terminal of Jacksonville Airport is divided into two concourses, A and C (Concourse B was demolished in 2009, with a new concourse slated to open in 2013).
- Concourse A is mainly home to Delta flights, as well as JetBlue and AirTran
- Concourse C is utilized by US Airways, Southwest and American.
