Parking at Long Beach Airport
AirportParking.com can help you find convenient and affordable parking at airports across the country, and Long Beach Airport parking is no exception. Although there are no parking lots currently available for reservation online, there are two off-site parking facilities available to park at, including at Long Beach airport. One provides valet parking and the option to get your car washed, while both offer free airport shuttles to and from the terminal.
At Long Beach Airport, there are two parking garages to choose from, A and B respectively, both which offer covered spaces and long term parking for those flying out of Long Beach. To access the lot, just follow the signs off of Lakewood Blvd. Additionally, it’s more expensive, but valet parking is also available, and includes a free car wash. Even better, all electric vehicles can park for free at Long Beach Airport (unfortunately, there are no charging stations at the garages).
LGB Airport Guide
Long Beach Airport (LGB), located in Long Beach, California, serves the greater Long Beach area, as well as Orange County and parts of Los Angeles. While it’s certainly smaller compared to its northern behemoth LAX airport, Long Beach Airport currently offers 41 daily commercial flights and 25 commuter flights, as well as a large number of charter flights, helicopters, blimps and more.
Despite its smaller size, flights go in and out from Long Beach Airport to places like Anchorage, Washington DC, Chicago, Las Vegas, San Francisco and more. It’s also the second closest airport to worldwide attraction Disneyland, after John Wayne Airport in Orange County. Furthermore, Boeing uses the airport to maintain production of C-17 military transport jets and maintenance facilities for other Boeing aircraft. Now through 2013, Long Beach Airport is undergoing construction to create a new passenger concourse. As a result, passengers may need to walk five minutes to aircraft when boarding.
To get to Long Beach Airport, take the 405 or 91 freeways, exit Lakewood Blvd and turn left (or right from the 91) onto Donald Douglas Drive. If driving isn’t your style, take the Long Beach Transit or the Metro Rail station – the nearest station is Wardlow Station on the Blue Line.
JetBlue Airways is the predominant hub at Long Beach Airport, making it an attractive alternative to heavier traffic at LAX. The airport consists of a single terminal, divided by gates into North and South concourses. While JetBlue takes up most of the gates, other airlines at Long Beach include US Airways, Delta and Alaska Airlines.
