Daily parking lots are located near each terminal at Lots 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 and 7, but are more expensive than the sole long-term lot in Parking Lot 3. Metered parking is also available at the Marine Air Terminal. To go from the parking lots to the terminal or to travel in between lots, take the free and frequent Route A or Route B courtesy buses.

New York LaGuardia Airport (LGA) is one of three major airports serving New York City and features ample service throughout the United States, with some flights to the Caribbean such as Aruba and the Bahamas. With nearly 24 million passengers passing through its gates in 2010, LGA is joined by JFK and Newark International Airport as the three main airports serving the New York and New Jersey areas.

LaGuardia is located off the Grand Central Parkway, which provide connections to Interstates 278, 678, and 495 allowing travel to Manhattan and other areas in the New York metro area. MTA bus service is also available, providing service throughout the area and facilitating connections to other public transit. For service between LaGuardia to Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn or the Bronx, take the M60 bus to connections to the Q33, Q47, Q72 and Q48 buses, respectively. All of the buses reach various subway connections as well.

Be warned – New York traffic is notoriously horrendous, and if you drive to LGA Airport during the day, you will run into major traffic at certain points, such as through the Midtown Tunnel. If you are traveling during the day, be sure to add at least 30 minutes to your trip so you will be sure to reach your flight on time.

The current make-up of airline service can dramatically change at LaGuardia, which is a slot-controlled airport. Delta and US Airways are planning a slot-swap deal in which US Airways would give Delta a large number of its LaGuardia slots, while Delta will give US Airways slots at Washington-National. The proposed transaction is currently being reviewed by regulators.  Additionally, the airport is well-known for its shuttle service to Boston and Washington that has been operated by a number of carriers over the years, but for now is operated by Delta Air Lines and JetBlue.

LGA airport has four terminals:

·         The Marine Air Terminal, or Terminal A, is solely used for Delta Shuttle service

·         Meanwhile, the Central Terminal Building (Terminal B) is used by a large number of carriers. It is split into four concourses:

o   Concourse A, for Air Canada, Continental, and JetBlue

o   AirTran, Frontier, JetBlue, Southwest, and Spirit use Concourse B

o   Concourse C is utilized by American Eagle and United

o   American is the only tenant at Concourse D

·         As the name implies, the US Airways Terminal (Terminal C) is used by US Airways
