Located in Sandston about seven miles from the capital of Virginia, Richmond International Airport (RIC) serves the city of Richmond, Virginia, as well as surrounding areas like historic Williamsburg. It’s also only two hours away from Washington DC, Virginia Beach and the Blue Ridge Mountains. With over 3.6 million passengers going through its terminal in 2007, Richmond Airport offers plenty of nonstop flights to destinations such as Atlanta, Chicago, and Orlando.
To reach Richmond International Airport from the north (or the direction of Washington DC) or south, take I-95 South until merging onto U.S. Highway 156 South towards North Airport Drive. If you’re traveling from the west, take I-64 until Exit 197A. For those seeking public transportation, the Greater Richmond Transit Company offers bus service to Richmond and cities in the area. Other vehicle services are also available.
RIC is served by major airlines, including Delta, JetBlue, American, US Airways, AirTran and United, with international flights to Toronto via Air Canada. Additionally, service from Vision Airlines is coming soon to Richmond airport, with flights to Grand Bahama Island.
