Parking at San Diego International Airport
AirportParking.com has you covered for parking at San Diego International Airport. All the long term parking lot options make it easy getting to SAN airport without hassle. Currently, you can make online reservations at one of four parking locations, all conveniently close to San Diego airport. Two lots offer valet service, while one has auto services like a car wash available. All the lots provide complimentary shuttle service to the airport, and you can feel safe with 24-security.
San Diego airport also offers on-site parking outside the Commuter Terminal and Terminal 1. Right now, all parking spaces in front of Terminal 2 have been relocated due to construction – to park near Terminal 2, go to McCain Road to find a temporary lot. Terminal 2 parking is scheduled to reopen in 2013. Valet parking is also available for passengers, with curbside drop-off at Terminals 1 and 2, while SAN Park offers easy access to San Diego airport, with free shuttle service to all terminals.
SAN Airport Guide
San Diego International Airport, located in sunny San Diego, California, is approximately three miles northwest of downtown San Diego, as well as about 20 miles away from the Mexican border. In 2007, San Diego Airport saw over 18 million passengers pass through its gates, making it the largest airport to not serve as a hub or secondary hub for an airline.
To get to San Diego Airport, connect to the I-5 from I-8, I-15 or State Route 163. Take the San Diego Airport/Hawthorn Street exit, go onto North Harbor Drive and turn right. If you’re coming southbound on the I-5, take the San Diego Airport/Sassafras Street exit to Kettner Boulevard, then make a right at Sassafras Street to Pacific Highway and turn left. This leads to Laurel Street – turn right onto Laurel, then right onto North Harbor Drive and follow the signs.
Public transportation is also available through Metropolitan Transit System bus. Take Flyer Route No. 992 to get between the airport and downtown San Diego, where you can connect with the Coaster commuter train or San Diego Trolley.
While San Diego is not a hub for any major air carrier, it does serve all the big domestic airlines like Southwest, United and Delta. The airport also has nonstop service to a number of places, including international flights to Vancouver, Puerto Vallarta, London, Mexico City, and Cabo San Lucas.
There are three terminals that operate out of San Diego Airport. Terminal 1 serves just three airlines: Alaska, Southwest and United. Terminal 2 is where international flights take off from and is home to Air Canada, Allegiant Air, American Airlines, British Airways, Hawaiian Airlines, JetBlue Airways, Delta, Southwest and Sun Country, United Continental, Virgin America, Volaris and WestJet. The Commuter Terminal is for airlines traveling shorter distances, thereby serving air carriers such as American Eagle, Delta Connection, SkyWest and United Express.Resources/Helpful Links
