Parking At San Jose International Airport
Fly in and out of Norman Y. Mineta San José International Airport without worrying about the hassle of finding a place to park! AirportParking.com helps you make your search for San Jose Airport parking as seamless as possible, offering three locations available for immediate airport parking reservation. All three offer free airport shuttles and optional valet service, while one of them (EZ Park Fly) also offers covered parking.
Travelers can also choose on-airport San Jose parking options: long-term parking (farthest from the terminal, but also the cheapest) and dedicated parking areas for Terminals A and B (close to the terminal, but more expensive). All three options offer complimentary shuttle service, though the Terminal A and B parking areas are within walking distance of their respective terminals. The Terminal A parking garage features electric charging stations. Furthermore, SJC airport offers a free cell phone parking lot for those who are waiting to pick someone up at the airport.
SJC Airport Guide
Norman Y. Mineta San José International Airport (SJC), along with San Francisco (SFO) and Oakland (OAK), make up the three commercial airports serving the Bay Area. Owned and operated by the City of San Jose, over eight million passengers passed through the airport’s terminals in 2009. Located three miles north and approximately 15 minutes from downtown San Jose, SJC airport is conveniently located near many major roadways and highways, including 17, 87, 101, 237, 280, 880, and 680. In addition, the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) provides public bus service from the airport to San Jose’s light rail system and Caltrain.
The airport, once a hub for American, is not the largest in the area but is still well-served by major carriers like American, Delta, Southwest, United, and US Airways. Currently, the airport offers nonstop service to Hawaii from Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines. While San Jose lost its nonstop service to Tokyo on American many years ago, the airport does still have international service. Both Alaska Airlines and Volaris provide flights to Mexico. SJC also has transcontinental service to Boston and New York-JFK from JetBlue Airways.
San Jose Airport has undergone many important changes over the past few years. Terminal C, originally constructed in 1965 and the airport’s oldest terminal, has been closed. The brand-new Terminal B, which was completed in June 2010, is now open and offers expansive, natural-lit spaces as well as a new security checkpoint and security areas. Terminal A has also been upgraded with expanded check-in areas and a larger security checkpoint in order to relieve congestion. Other areas of the terminal, such as boarding areas and restrooms, have also received a facelift. Major air carriers operating out of Terminal A include American, Continental, United, Hawaiian, JetBlue and US Airways, while Terminal B is utilized by Alaska Airlines, Delta and Southwest.
