Charging stations:

If you drive an electric car, you can charge your vehicle at one of the 5 EV charging stations inside the Yellow lot, located on the Ground Level. Although you do not have to pay to charge your car, you will have to pay for parking fees in accordance with the rates shown above.

JFK Long Term Parking

So you’ve planned a long trip away, but where are you going to park your car for the next few weeks or even months? For JFK long-term parking, there is actually a designated parking lot, Long-Term Parking Lot 9. You can access this lot through the AirTrain. Unfortunately, any period over 30 days will have to go through a separate process.

Alternative Transportation

Car services

If you’re wanting to take one of New York’s famous yellow cabs to or from the airport, it’s good to know a few things before you go. As a passenger, the cost of your fare will include tolls and taxes and will be based on a flat rate between $45-55 dollars if you’re going to or from Manhattan. Up to four passengers can ride in the car for the same rate, as the rate is not based on the number of passengers.

A common solution to airport transportation is through ridesharing apps such as Uber and Lyft. There is no specific pick-up spot designated for ridesharing at Kennedy International. It won’t be a short ride home for most though; Lyft released a report of ride lengths showing that on average those going from JFK were in for the longest ride. Regulations for ridesharing at the airport are always changing, so be sure to double check that ride-sharing is still permissible at the airport you’re flying into.

Shuttle services

A cheap and reliable transportation method is through shuttles services to JFK airport such as SuperShuttle. You can either make a reservation for a shuttle pick-up or you can go to a shuttle pick-up spot. Using a search website like shuttlefinder.com is a handy way to find a shuttle that fits your needs.

Public transportation

If you’re looking to take public transportation to Kennedy International Airport, there are a few options you can compare for your location.

AirTrain

You can travel back and forth from JFK with the AirTrain. The AirTrain can connect all terminals to the Jamaica and Howard Beach stations; From the Howard Beach station, you can connect to the NYC subway system as well as the Long Island railroad. From Jamaica station, you can take the NYC subway. In order to ride the NYC Public Transportation Network, you will have to pay a separate fare.

Bus Lines

If you want to take the bus out of John F. Kennedy Airport, be sure to head to Terminal 5’s bus stop to catch the B15, Q3, and Q10.

Insider tips

With 6 terminals and more than 90 airlines operating out of it, JFK is by no means a small airport. 59 million travelers passed through JFK in 2017. If you try to look for the JFK airport address, you’ll soon find that there isn’t actually an address. JFK is actually so big that it doesn’t have an actual address, but it does have its own zip code, 11430.

How do you get around within such a big airport? The AirTrain system helps travelers within the airport get from one terminal to the next. Delta Airlines also has a free shuttle bus to transport Delta Airlines passengers between terminals 2 and 3.

Terminal 2 is a Delta-exclusive terminal, so you’ll be very familiar with this terminal if you take Delta flights often. Flying internationally? You’ll be heading to Terminal 4, the international terminal.

Find yourself in Terminal 8? Don’t get lost! As the largest passenger terminal, twice the size of Madison Square Garden, Terminal 8 is huge. There are 29 gates here, including American Airlines, American Eagle and Air Berlin.
